Welcome to Drawing Water from the Well.
Drawing Water from the Well is a place for essays on faith, ministry, grief, moral injury, reconciliation, and the quiet work of the Spirit. They are homiletic exercises for spiritual and ethical growth.
These essays emerge from decades of pastoral ministry and military chaplaincy—walking alongside people through loss, trauma, service, and recovery. They are written in the belief that faith should deepen our humanity, widen our compassion, and help us listen more carefully to one another and to God.
Some posts will be theological. Others will be personal reflections, cultural observations, or meditations on memory and grace.
The goal is to draw deeply from the well—Scripture, tradition, reason, experience, lament, and hope—and to offer something thoughtful, grounded, and humane in return.
Whether you arrive here carrying questions, weariness, conviction, or curiosity, you are welcome.
